For those who are trying to figure out what are the best light fixtures for their homes, it’s important for them to understand that lighting is almost a science. There are so many options of light sources, and so many different types of styles that it can become extremely confusing for everyone. But, is the chandelier the best light fixture?

For one thing, everyone knows what a chandelier is. However, chandeliers have come a long way, especially the recent past. In fact, they don’t only represent romance anymore.

From there, there are thousands of choices of other types of ceiling lights and other types of lighting devices. In addition to that, you’ll find some of them that light up words, some which light downwards, others that light both up and down and still others that are adjustable so that they can supply light in any type of direction. Of course, all of these could be either in concentrating or beaming type or in a defusing type.

Furthermore, you’ll find track lighting and pendant lights, fluorescents, recessed lighting, wall sconces and of course free standing lamps. All of which have many different options within each category, providing consumers with a slew of options.

So best light fixtures, are really personal choice. But, in addition to the personal choice, there is the science involved. In fact, there are actually calculations that will help you determine how much lighting is required per square foot in every room. Therefore, when you decide to properly light a room, you must consider that you must have as many different types of light sources, all of which would be better off being connected to dimmer switches in order to be more energy efficient and to create better light.
